<p>I&#8217;ve had an extremely positive experience with Steadfast Networks since I signed up in November. I had one period of outage that lasted 10 minutes that I am aware of, and the site has been completely stable otherwise. When I had technical questions, they answered my telephone call and provided assistance within 5 minutes. I&#8217;m highly impressed with their customer service and with how well the site runs while I&#8217;m paying less than $4/month.</p>

<p>I have been at steadfast for over a month and couldn&#8217;t be happier. I am on their Litespeed servers and I can see the performance difference over Apache while using Wordpress. Pages seem to load much faster then other places I have been at when using MySQL.</p>
<p>Support, when I needed it has been excellent. I moved to their litespeed servers when they were still in beta, there was a few bugs but they had them worked out with within a few hours. Haven&#8217;t used support too much so I put it at above average.</p>
<p>The control panel that Steadfast uses is excellent. Some users don&#8217;t like Hsphere but I like it much more then cPanel. It gives me much more advanced options then cPanel let me do on shared accounts.</p>
<p>The network couldn&#8217;t get much better, haven&#8217;t seen any latency on my routes to them and speeds have been excellent.</p>
<p>Pricing is good for the service, I am on their first tier monthly plan which gives me 500mb of space and 30 gb of transfer, plenty for me.</p>
<p>Couldn&#8217;t be happier with the team there, they are excellent and they have products if I ever need to expand :).</p>

So finally got in and paid for one year web hosting in advance and got the HG invoice by email. In a few minutes, got the HG Welcome email with all the login credentials for the control panel, again with a different password from the password for their support system and also different from the password for their billing system. So guess what, I could not login into the control panel using the credentials in their welcome email. Kept on getting a message &#8220;login not valid&#8221;. <p>After waiting for a while, I did not hear back, so I decided to do a Live Chat and spoke with Norris and told him of the problem, and I told him that if they would not solve my problem that I wanted a refund. So he said he was looking into it, and when he came back, never told me what the problem was and why they could not solve it, but simply gave me instructions on how to cancel the account, which I then did and received a confirmation email. Their website says the refund is issued the same day, but I am still waiting for my refund as I write this.</p>

<p>Just let me start off with I love this service. My site hasn&#8217;t been down at all, and its been like that for a long time. The support is really great, I usually get emails back either that same day, or the next, they are really good. One time I screwed up my acount by fooling around with stuff, I asked them to reset it, and they did!</p>
<p>The service you recieve it just wonderful! You get a couple different things that you can easily install like WordPress and Phpbb, and some OSCommerce. The CPanel is easy to use, and you can easily learn it really quick. The web based Ftp is really great and easy to use, thats how I upload all my items to my site easily.</p>
<p>I would really recommend this web service. You get really good service for just a review! Really great service they have, hope you all can enjoy this service!</p>

<p>Over the last year or two I have probably given more positive reviews than negative reviews. But it appears I have to gripe a bit about a hosting provider now. Until today I have been fairly happy with their service, but what happened today i&#8217;ll be canceling my hosting account after nearly a year.</p>
<p>Before I signed up with hostgator.com a year ago I went into their 24/7 live chat to ask them about some of their policies. The main question was do they allow of un-copyrighted song files to be hosted on their servers. Which the tech person said, and I quote (as I kept the chat log) &#8220;as long as they not illegal in the U.S&#8221;. I then said we host various Concert files from Classic Rock groups such as Pink Floyd, U2, Grateful Dead etc&#8230; and that they are legal to host these as no copyright infringement are broken. Then went ont to the whole archive.org thing, and he said &#8220;that should be fine&#8221;.</p>
<p>So flash forward to last week. A year after I have been hosting roughly 100 of these concerts someone logged into our FTP Server and deleted all of the files. Put up some really nasty index.html that forwarded to some porn website that had a virus on it. We eventually caught the person and banned him. I contacted HostGator in regards to their backup system. Which they say the backup all accounts. I opened up a ticket to restore just the folder that was lost. And had to pay a restore fee, which IMHO isn&#8217;t warranted. I&#8217;ve never had to pay for a backup before. The Sales Department pretty much immediately dinged my CC, then said they would forward the ticket to the restore team/admin, which it sat there a few days. Finally someone answered it and said they would take a look.</p>
<p>A few more days went by and today and I got a ticket reply stating that I was over my inode limit and they cannot restore the backup. Then went on to say they deleted the directory I want restored because they do not allow hosting of MP3 files. Which again these are Concert Files, whom I have been hosting for over 5 years now on another (good) provider. So I told them to REFUND my card immediately, which looks like they are in the process of.</p>
<p>My first gripe is&#8230; don&#8217;t have your sales/tech people tell me I can host these files, then down the road say I can&#8217;t. Do not say you can restore my account/directory then give a bogus &#8220;inode limit&#8221; excuse. Then do not go into my account and physically delete my directory. I find this unacceptable, and its why i&#8217;ll be moving my account to another provider.</p>
<p>I have been a happy customer before this, but due to this I&#8217;m going to cancel. I do not like to be told I can do something, then someone else with the same commpany says&#8230; nope can&#8217;t do it. Have them say they can restore an account then&#8230; nope can&#8217;t do it.</p>
<p>So i&#8217;ll be happy to tell everyone I know.. stay away from hostgator.com. I sure as will..</p>

<p>I had been with them for about 6 months and starting in January they changed the way they monitor things and all hell broke loose. I woke up to check my site and saw a big error message stating that my account was suspended. From there it just got worse and they ended up canceling my site and providine me with a link to download my files that doesn&#8217;t even work. I am still trying to liberate my files from them and they are very uncooperative to say the least.</p>
<p>I haven&#8217;t been able to reach anyone on the phone since Tuesday. They never return your calls and when they rarely do respond to an e-mail it&#8217;s very unprofessional and offers no support or assistance. Stay away from them!! Read all about it here.</p>
